ABOUT THE CHEF

I am a caterer, private chef, food blogger, and cookbook author – living and working in Los Angeles.
Cooking is my passion, I was fortunate to discover this at an early age. Twenty-six years ago I started cooking professionally.
Since then my work has ranged from distributing lunch in brown paper bags all over Century City and the entire West side of town, to working my food booths at several local Farmers Markets, most notably the Hollywood Farmers Market where I served up my Caribbean-Creole cuisine for 18 years. I’ve catered social and family gatherings, movie and commercial shoots. I have even opened and closed a few restaurants over time.
Recently, I wrote and published my first cookbook Chef Marlene Is Cooking with Flava: A Caribbean/Creole Concept, which is available as an e-book from Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
I am eager to share my passion for great food with my clients. My mission is to deliver quality meals prepared with the best products available, while staying within budget.
To accomplish this I will start with the best raw products available, reduced oils and sodium, farmers market fresh vegetables and herbs, gluten free and whole grains products. The result is a variety of healthy choices, guaranteed to meet and exceed your highest expectations, while embracing your dietary needs.
Whether you are a busy professional, a person with specific dietary needs, a young family, an active senior, or someone who simply prefers to pass along the heavy lifting in the kitchen — I am your go-to person!
As a personal chef, my duty is to customize a meal program suitable for you. My personal chef service will be tailored to your specifications, with special consideration given to your dietary needs and daily schedule.
Meals are prepared in your kitchen, labeled with instructions for heating and handling, stored in your freezer or refrigerator – this way, you can enjoy your meals anytime, in the comfort of your home.
